Q: How much do you charge for shipping?
A: We offer FREE shipping on orders of $25 or more! We do not ship though to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands or any other area not in the Continental United States. This is due to the high cost of postage to these areas. We regret any inconvenience this may cause you.
Q: What happens if an item I ordered is not available and is backordered?
A: We work very hard to make sure all items are in stock. However, backordered items not available at the time of order will be shipped immediately upon arrival from our manufacturers. Please email us and we should be able to give you an estimated time frame.
Q: What happens if I go over my allowance or want to pay with a personal credit card?
A: If you go over your allowance you can pay the remainder of the balance with a personal credit card. If you are paying for the whole order with a personal credit card, you still must provide a USPS uniform allowance card number. This is due to postal regulations and for security purposes - to prove that you are a USPS employee entitled to wear the official uniforms.
Q: Is ordering on your site secure?
A: Absolutely. We have numerous security measures in place. When accessed using an SSL capable browser, your information is encrypted for maximum security. To prevent any unauthorized access we use the most advanced technology.
A: The information provided by you is not disclosed to any outside organization unless required by law. We use "cookie" technology to keep track of your shopping cart and the pages you visit. The cookie does not contain any personal information about you and is not used for any other purpose.
Q: Do you provide alterations?
A: We will hem trousers free of charge if you provide us the inseam length that you want. Other bottoms are hemmed to standard sizes by our union made manufacturers. More information can be found on the sizing page. Please keep in mind that trousers or slacks hemmed to 27" or less are not returnable or exchangeable.
Q: Can non uniformed employees or anyone who doesn't work for the Post Office purchase items?
A: Anyone can purchase items such as shoes, belts, and socks that don’t have a logo or does not have a design proprietary to the USPS. We can only sell proprietary or logo items to USPS uniformed employees as per USPS rules and for security purposes.
Q: Can a USPS employee buy any item with their allowance?
A: You may only order items approved for your craft. Please see the USPS ELM (Employee and Labor Relations Manual) on the "Authorized Employee Uniform Item (ELM)" page.
Q: What is your return policy?
A: Any item with its original packaging that has not been worn or used in any way can be returned for exchange or refund within ONE YEAR of receipt. Try on your garments before removing tags or washing. We will pay the postage to get the exchange back to you. We will not take back pants hemmed to 27" or less so please measure carefully before ordering. If you do not indicate whether you want an exchange or a refund we will automatically refund your allowance and will not be responsible if you do not use it before your next anniversary date and lose it.
Q: What do I do if my allowance is about to expire?
A: As you might know, your allowance does not "carry over" to the next year. If you don't use it you lose it! We will not be held responsible for you losing your allowance if you order right before the date. We suggest that you order well in advance to your next uniform anniversary date. If any item is backordered we suggest that you cancel it and order something else in its place if it is close to your anniversary date.
Q: What brands do you use?
A: We only use the highest quality brands. All of our letter carrier shirts and pants are union made Flying Cross by Fechheimer except where noted. If we are out of Flying Cross, we usually substitute with union made Elbeco. Our retail clerks pants are union made Calvin Taylor, and the button down shirts are union made Elbeco and the knit polo shirts are union made Flying Cross. Please note that we will substitute with a different brand if our default brands are not available.
